How much does it cost to participate in CIELETI 2?
The registration fees are as follows:
In-person participant: USD ~$60
Online participant: USD ~$30
Fellowship dinner (optional): USD ~$50
Do I need to present my work in English?
No. You may submit your proposal in either English or Spanish.
Can I submit research on Portuguese, Japanese, French, or another language?
Absolutely! Although the official languages of the colloquium are English and Spanish, we welcome proposals related to any language.
Individual papers, round tables, and practical workshops.
What is the deadline for submitting a proposal?
15th June 2026.
What is the maximum length for an abstract?
250 words, excluding references.
Do I need to include a biographical note?
Yes. Please include a short biographical note of up to 150 words.
Can I participate from another country?
Yes. The colloquium will be held in hybrid format, with online participation via Zoom.
Who are the plenary speakers?
In-person Dr Enrique Cerezo-Herrero (Universitat de València) and online Dr. Richard Clouet (Universidad de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria).
What topics can I present?
Foreign language teaching, translation, interpreting, applied linguistics, corpora, AI applied to language teaching, machine translation, assessment, multilingualism, and more.
My topic is not on the listed themes. Can I still submit a proposal?
If your proposal is related to the teaching and training of translators and interpreters, particularly involving foreign languages, we will be happy to consider it.
Can I pay in person?
No. All payments must be made through the online platform we will be setting up. If you wish to pay on the day of the event, this must also be done online.
Are the fees in US dollars?
No. The fees are in Chilean pesos with an estimate in dolars. When you proceed to payment, the platform will automatically convert the amount to your preferred currency according to your payment method.
Does paying automatically register me?
No. You will need to complete a separate registration form, which we will send out in July. Registration and payment are handled independently, which will allow us to manage attendance records on the day of the colloquium.
